Telecom regulator loses chairman to ministry

Venezuela's government has designated Jesse Chacon, chairman of the telecoms regulator Conatel, as the head of a new ministry of communication and information, Venezuelan daily El Nacional reported. Conatel's universal access program manager Alvin Lezama will replace Chacon as Conatel head. Until now Conatel has been under the portfolio of the infrastructure ministry.
