Telefónica Tech expands its global cybersecurity services with Microsoft

Madrid, May 20, 2024. Telefónica Tech announces a new agreement with Microsoft - signed at the RSA conference held in San Francisco (California, USA) - to bring next-generation cybersecurity services to companies around the world.
This collaboration will integrate Microsoft's advanced security and artificial intelligence solutions with Telefónica Tech's operational cybersecurity expertise. Customers will benefit from proactive, integrated, automated and real-time security management.
Telefónica Tech expands its current cybersecurity portfolio, which includes services such as Detection and Response, Identity Access Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence or Data Protection, among others, to improve incident response capabilities and optimize security processes . The company will integrate Microsoft's cybersecurity capabilities, including the Microsoft Copilot for Security tool, with its existing security operations. 24x7 protection that is managed with its own specialized teams - which have the highest qualifications and certifications in Microsoft technology - from Telefónica Tech's DOCs (Digital Operations Centers) located in Madrid and Bogotá, Colombia.

Telefónica Tech is a managed security services partner (MSSP), recognized 2nd on MSSP Alert's Top 250 Global MSSP list in 2023, which offers organizations access to a team of highly qualified cybersecurity experts without the need to invest in technology and internal equipment. In 2023, Telefónica Tech was recognized by Microsoft as partner of the year in Spain, in addition to achieving the highest level of partnership in all its designations, including security and Azure expert managed services provider (MSP). In 2024, Telefónica Tech has added the specializations of cloud security ('Cloud Security') and protection against threats ('Threat Protection'), which increases the company's technical capabilities by Microsoft.
Responsible AI in Spain
This new cybersecurity agreement is another step in the long-term collaboration between both companies. Last February, Microsoft announced its Responsible AI Innovation Center (RAIIC) in Spain, in which Telefónica Tech collaborates, along with 15 other technology partners, to promote the adoption and safe use of artificial intelligence. In this center, training sessions, innovative use cases with AI and guidelines for the safe and responsible application of this technology will be developed.
