Telefónica to invest US$7.6mn in Mendoza

Spain's Telefónica plans to invest 22mn Argentine pesos (US$7.63mn) to expand its network in Argentina's Mendoza province, local daily El Cronista reported. The investment will also include new ADSL internet access routes and maintenance of infrastructure such as the public telephony network, Telefónica Argentina president Mario Vázquez announced. The projects will take place in the San Rafael, Luján de Cuyo, Godoy Cruz, Chacras de Coria, Guaymallén, Las Heras, Luzuriaga and Maipú departments. In Mendoza, Telefónica operates 272,662, 100% digital lines.
