Temuco-Rio Bueno hwy. posts US$5.1mn 9mth. net profit

The concessionaire behind the Talca-Rio Bueno highway in south-central Chile posted a 3.17bn peso (US$5.11mn) net profit in the first nine months, up 8.78% from the same period last year. For the period, revenue grew 4.14% to 9.12bn pesos and operating profit increased 5.3% to 4.93bn pesos, Ruta de los Rios Sociedad Concesionaria said in a statement to the country's securities regulator, the SVS. The concessionaire was awarded the 25-year operations and maintenance concession in 1997, which includes carrying out new works and improving current infrastructure. The 171km stretch is part of the Pan-American Highway (Ruta 5), and runs from Region IX capital Temuco to Region X town Rio Bueno.
