Within the framework of contractual obligations, the National Hydrocarbons Agency makes official the announcement made by Ecopetrol and Petrobras in relation to the extension of the gas discovery in the Uchuva-2 well, corresponding to the Tayrona Block, with the following information:

Ecopetrol announced that the Uchuva-2 delimitation well has confirmed the extension of the gas discovery made in 2022 with the drilling of the Uchuva-1 well. This significant advance provides crucial information for the development of this new production frontier in the Colombian Caribbean and reinforces the predicted gas potential in the region.

The Uchuva-2 well is located in the Tayrona Block, approximately 31 km from the coast, and its drilling, at 804 meters of water depth, began on June 19.

The Contractor is made up of Petrobras, (who in turn is the operator of the E&P Contract), with a participation of 44.44% and Ecopetrol with 55.56%. This Contractor will continue working on drilling until reaching the planned depth to be able to characterize the conditions of the deposits found.
