The Minister of Public Works, Lisandro Enrico, together with the president of Aguas Santafesinas SA, Anahí Rodríguez, supervised this Tuesday the tasks of reactivating the construction of the new Assa water treatment plant in the city of Santa Fe.

The work was progressing nearly 18% when it was paralyzed by the national government, and the efforts of Governor Maximiliano Pullaro and Minister Enrico allowed it to be included among the works that the Nation will continue to finance in the province of Santa Fe . The estimated investment, as of May 2024, is 35,000 million pesos.

In this regard, Enrico pointed out that “this reactivation of work is part of a good relationship with the national government. Santa Fe is here to help” and specified that “the progress of the work did not exceed 18%.” The work was announced almost two years ago, it started under the previous government, payments were stopped, and the work stopped.”

“In this very complicated economic issue, we have managed to reach an agreement to resume the work, and for the Nation to once again focus on financing. And today work is resumed,” concluded the minister.

For his part, Rodríguez explained that “it is a strategic work for the capital city, which will allow it to accompany the population and urban development of Santa Fe and produce 75% more drinking water. This will improve the public service we provide to many neighborhoods in the city, where today we have low pressure, for example, and connect new users.”

“The work is planned for population growth over 30 years, which will solve many of the problems that the capital has today with this essential public service,” highlighted the president of the company.

Finally, Rodriguez valued “the management of Governor Pullaro, who has been able, through dialogue, to give continuity to a work that is going to change our quality of life. These infrastructure works are essential so that Aguas Santafesinas can extend its service and improve its quality parameters,” he concluded.

Details of the work
The Infrastructure Manager of Aguas Santafesinas, Patricia Zago, explained that the works include “a water intake parallel to the “Hernandez”, which is the current one, which will be called Calchines; the raw water pipe, which brings the water to the plant; and the connection between the pipe and the current aqueduct.”

In addition, “the purification module at the Assa plant, the filtration units and the cisterns will be executed; It also includes the improvement of the chemical house, sludge treatment, discharge pipe, and the construction of the new quality control laboratory,” he concluded.

The mayor of the city of Santa Fe, Juan Pablo Poletti, the General Secretary of the municipality, Alejandro Boscarol, participated in the tour; the supervisor of the National Works and Sanitation Entity , Silvina Patterer; and construction engineers.
