The construction of the Second Section of the Río Seque – La Cumbre Crossing; Phase II of the Río Seque – Río Seco Bridges, has been awarded

The Minister of Public Works, Services and Housing, Edgar Montaño, stated that on August 19 of this year, the construction of the Second Section of the Río Seque – La Cumbre Crossing; Phase II of the Río Seque – Río Seco Bridges, was awarded to the company Asociación Accidental “Lapacho”, for an amount of Bs. 83,251,238.40.
“As always, we have good news. It is a great satisfaction to inform our population of La Paz, and especially of El Alto, that this project is being awarded,” said the authority.
The work, which includes the construction of a double bridge in Río Seque and a double bridge in Río Seco, is located on the Río Seque – La Cumbre highway section, which is part of the fundamental road network N°41 in the department of La Paz and passes through the areas: District 5, Ingenio Originario, Siete Lagunas, Achachicala center and the community of Chacaltaya.
Among the features of the project construction are: parallel bridges, that is, in Río Seque there will be two adjoining bridges, as in Río Seco, one for each direction of traffic, both with a length of 320 m, likewise, their accesses will have a length of 320 m, lane width of 10 m, sidewalk for pedestrian circulation of 1.2 m, each bridge will have 2 abutments consisting of a head beam, supported on three piles of 1.25 m in diameter, with 13.5 m each.
"We will also invite social organizations so that they can observe the development of the project. This road is for the benefit of our population, since it will free up traffic within La Paz and El Alto," said Montaño.
The total investment amount corresponds to 80% by the CAF and 20% by the Autonomous Departmental Government of La Paz . The national company that was awarded this work will sign the contract on September 9, with the execution period being 750 calendar days.
