The construction of the new La Avanzada transmission system, at 230/138 kV, 150 MVA (megavoltamperes), located in the Santa Rosa canton, in the province of El Oro, registers a progress of 53%. These new facilities will allow us to meet the growth in energy demand in the upper area of the province, through a new connection point from the National Transmission System for the distribution company CNEL EP El Oro.

The transmission system comprises an electrical substation and a transmission line. Its construction is in charge of the Electric Corporation of Ecuador (CELEC EP), through its Transelectric Business Unit.

The substation is in the civil works stage, for the buildings, equipment and exterior road; while on the transmission line the assembly of the structures is carried out. With the new system, the electricity supply for the main industrial loads in the area will be strengthened, which will strengthen the development of different economic activities: industrial, mining, agricultural in the southwestern area of the province of El Oro.

The Government of Ecuador, through the Ministry of Energy and Mines and CELEC EP, permanently executes new energy transmission works throughout the country, in order to have a reliable electrical service, which allows an adequate supply of electricity and new opportunities for social and economic development.
