The Paraguayan Senate approves with modifications a project that promotes electric transport

The Chamber of Senators, in its ordinary session of the date, gave half sanction to the legislative proposal "Of incentives and promotion of the electrical transport in Paraguay", presented by the legislator Derlis Osorio. It is worth mentioning that this document was already approved in general in a last session and its study in particular postponed.
The purpose of this Law is to establish the regulatory framework that regulates the promotion of electric transport in the country and the strengthening of public policies to encourage its use in the public sector and in the general public. For this purpose, this Law regulates the public administrative organization linked to electric transport, the institutional competences and their encouragement; provides tax exemptions, incentives, and public policy standards for the production and assembly of vehicles and auto parts, the use of electric transportation as a transport of clean energy.
Senator Derlis Osorio, designer, gave details of the scope and modifications that he proposes to the document. He also stressed that this initiative will bring benefits to citizens.
At the proposal of Senator Stephan Rasmussen, the words "hybrid vehicles" were introduced in section 2 in section b).
Articles 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 were also modified and 16 was tested.
The base text approved was that of the Legislation Commission with the suggestions of Senator Stephan Rasmussen.
The proposed Law was approved with modifications and is sent to the Chamber of Deputies.
