Bogotá, October 12, 2022. The measures adopted by the Energy and Gas Regulation Commission (CREG), within the framework of the pact for tariff justice, made it possible for 80 companies to unite to have efficient costs. However, the task continues. The Commission continues to work on the permanent review of tariff methodologies.

"We are committed to efficient costs in energy rates and, of course, always giving signs of improving service, helping Colombians have a better quality of life," said Jorge Valencia Marín, director of CREG.

The first regulatory package issued by the Regulation Commission involved the review of the indicators used to update the components of the rate and thus make it possible for Colombians to have efficient rates before the end of the year.

"The Commission continues to work on structural solutions, not only due to the situation that has arisen, but also in the review of the tariff methodology of this public service," said Valencia Marín.

At this time, the Commission is carrying out the review of three tariff components of the cost of providing the electric energy service: transmission, commercialization, and the beginning of the process of reviewing the methodology of distribution charges. All as part of the Unit Cost of Service Provision (CU).

"Focusing on the energy efficiency that is required so that the user's service has the appropriate quality levels in the provision of the service."
