Three groups after consultancy work for 80MW Honduras hydro
Honduran state power company Enee’s call to update the 80MW Los Llanitos hydro project drew three offers.
The bidders are Consorcio Concremat-Tecnisa-PINI Group, Consorcio Llanitos DTP and Empresa Asociación de Consultores en Ingeniería, procurement information shows.
The winner of the 24-month contract will carry out technical, environmental, social, and economic feasibility studies, and the basic design for Llanitos which would use water from the Ulúa River in Santa Barbara department.
Llanitos is part of the planned 210MW Jicatuyo complex and would boast a 111m-high dam and a reservoir covering 20km2 that would hold 731Mm3.
Also from Honduras, Polygroup recently launched operations of a 17MW thermo plant in Villanueva, Cortés department, that will support efforts to reduce the country’s electricity dispatch shortfall.

Guatemala’s power regulator CNEE authorized IELOU Energy to connect its 4.8MW Fénix 1 Masagua solar plant to distributor Empresa Eléctrica de Guatemala’s grid.
The connection authorization expires November 28, 2025, and if IELOU fails to bring the project online by the deadline, a new connection request must be submitted.
IELOU is a distributed generation unit of CMI.

Hidroibérica filed an environmental impact study with Panama’s environment ministry for the 0.5MW El Fraile Solar 2 project in Caimitillo, Coclé province.
The company already operates the 0.48MW El Fraile Solar 1 park and the 6.6MW El Fraile hydro and holds the concession for the 2.95MW El Fraile II hydro.
