Tinka starts exploring Tinka

Vancouver-based Tinka Resources (TSX-V: TK) reported that a work program has started on its Tinka copper-gold prospect in southern Peru's Ica department. A contract has been signed with VDG Del Peru to carry out a horizontal loop electromagnetic survey (HLEM) covering 19.5km at the property in October to help define targets for drilling in November, Tinka said in a statement. Results of IP surveys conducted in 1972 and 1997 defined a continuous IP anomaly extending approximately 3.2km north-south by 1.4km east-west, it said. The HLEM survey will be undertaken within the anomaly where surface geochemistry has given the highest results for copper and gold, said Tinka. The company has an option to earn 70% in Tinka, located 35km east of regional capital of Ica, from fellow Canadian Tumi Resources (TSX-V: TM) and a Peruvian national.
