TMEX Launches Mexico-US Switch

Bnamericas
California-based telecommunications company TMEX USA (OTC: TMXU) yesterday inaugurated a new international traffic switch in Laredo, Texas for voice traffic between the United States and Mexico. TMEX has also entered a provisional agreement with an undisclosed Internet telephony service provider for the sale of four million minutes per month of telecommunications traffic from the US to Mexico, the company said in a statement. The International ATM switch inaugurated in Laredo, Texas will allow the Mexican carrier to provide direct access to the network, TMEX explained. The sale of four million minutes "represents a fraction" of TMEX's 50 million minute per month capacity, according to the company, and the "imminent" sale of those minutes is being negotiated with facilities-based telecommunications companies.
