The following is a machine translation of a Celec release
The arrival of 23 new power generation units for the new Salitral Thermal Power Plant, located in Guayaquil, marks a significant advance in strengthening the National Interconnected System (SNI).
These devices were transported today to the warehouses of the contractor Progen, where adjustments, calibrations and verifications will be carried out to ensure their optimal condition before being transferred to the installation site at the thermal power plant.
The first shipment of generators, which will add an additional 80.5 MW to the SNI, arrived at the port of Guayaquil last night. In the next few days, the auxiliary equipment necessary to proceed with the corresponding tests will arrive, which will allow the start of electric generation. Meanwhile, the civil works at the Salitral Thermal Power Plant have registered a progress of 92%.
The platforms for the installation of the generating units are already ready, and the technical staff is working on the adaptation of key areas such as the fuel storage area and the control room.
