Top bidder emerges for Ecuador refinery storage work
Industricorp is the top ranked participant in Ecuador national oil company (NOC) Petroecuador’s tender to prepare a storage project at the Esmeraldas refinery.
The 190-day contract entails carrying out the feasibility study and basic engineering to replace two of the plant’s seven asphalt tanks, each of which boasts storage capacity of 7,100b.
The other bidders in the call, issued in September, were Hexagon Security Consulting; Ingeniería, Montajes y Construcciones del Ecuador; Liserpe; Santos CMI; and Sociedad Civil Serchid. The awarding is expected shortly.
Meanwhile, the NOC canceled tenders to accompany a program to reduce natural gas flaring and characterize crude and fuel oil at its 45,000b/d La Libertad refinery.
The processes were called off due to “a substantial violation of the hiring process,” which in the first tender was related to the lack of time to answer all inquiries from potential bidders, and in the second tender, an informatics issue.
Information about when new calls would be issued was not disclosed.
