Top power producer in Peru secures solar concessions for combined 468MW

Peru’s energy and mines ministry granted Kallpa Generación two temporary concessions for solar projects totaling 468MW.
The concessions are for proposed photovoltaic parks CSF Pampa Salinas I and CSF Pampa Salinas II, each with capacity of 234MW and planned for the southern region of Moquegua.
Inkia Energy-controlled Kallpa, which led electricity generation in October, filed the concession requests in September and now has 24 months to conduct feasibility studies.
A temporary concession allows the use of public property, with the right to obtain temporary rights of way, and may be extended once for up to one year. The concession holder also has preferential rights to request the definitive concession.
The ministry also approved reference terms to draft the environmental impact declaration for Kallpa’s 370MW Sunny 3 solar project.

For its part, Compañía Eléctrica el Platanal secured ministry approval of the citizen participation plan and reference terms to draft the semi-detailed environmental impact study of the 137MW La Quebrada 1 wind project.
