Tower One Wireless deploys 17 more sites in Latin America

Mobile infrastructure company Tower One Wireless built 17 new towers in Latin America during April, reaching a total of 557, according to the Vancouver-based firm’s monthly construction report.

That compares with 23 towers delivered in March and 11 new sites added in April 2023.

Of the total deployments in April this year, 15 were in Colombia and one each in Ecuador and Mexico.

With the new additions, Tower One said it reached 606 tenants, that is, leasers per site, for its portfolio.

The Colombian towers were built mostly in rural areas in Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Nariño and Tolima departments and comprise macrosites, structures up to 85m tall.

In Ecuador, the new tower is a 30m urban structure set up in the wholesale market of Lacatunga municipality in Cotopaxi province.

In Mexico, the 45m tower was built in a rural area of Estación Zanapa in Huimanguillo municipality, Tabasco state.

Since 2016, Tower One has built 706 towers in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina and Ecuador, 149 of which were deactivated, including all those in Argentina.

Its main tenants per tower are Telefónica, a user at 43% of its sites, Tigo (32%), WOM (17%) and Claro (5%). Others include DirecTV, Altán and CFE.
