Transfuel wins Petroecuador transport contract

Ecuador's state oil company Petroecuador has awarded a one-year contract worth US$1.95mn to transport fuel oil from its La Libertad and Esmeraldas refineries to the Tres Bocas terminal from December 1 to fuel transport company Transfuel, Petroecuador said in a statement Tuesday. Under the terms of the contract, Transfuel will transport 7 million barrels of fuel oil a month in its tankers Cabo Pasado and Valdivia, which have capacities of 25,000b and 18,570b respectively. The deal represents a proportional saving of 52.8% over the US$3.85mn contracts that expired at the end of November, the statement said.
