Trinidad offshore seismic campaign set to begin
Shell Trinidad and Tobago expects a seismic survey to begin June 1 across the East Coast Marine Area.
In a notice, the operator said that the PXGEO 2 vessel will carry out the work on deepwater blocks 25a, 25b and 27.
Data collection will take around three months.
Shell, in a joint venture with BPTT, picked up the blocks last year in the country’s 2021 deepwater competitive bid round.
BP and Shell are the Caribbean nation’s principal natural gas producers, accounting for 46.4% and 26.6%, respectively, of the 2.59Bf3/d (billion cubic feet per day) produced in 2023, as well as important contributors to oil and condensate output, energy ministry data shows.
