Trinidad readies refinery call
Trinidad and Tobago's government is finalizing an RFP that will be issued regarding future operations of the Pointe-a-Pierre refinery (pictured) which was shut down following the withdrawl of state oil company Petrotrin as part of the NOC's restructuring.
"It is projected that the entire process of receiving, evaluating and selection of the successful bidder will be completed by the end of June 2019," Prime Minister Keith Rowley said at a local energy event.
He added that expressions of interest have been received from some 50 parties, including the Oilfield Workers' Trade Union (OWTU).
Trinidad Petroleum Holding (TPH), which emerged from the restructuring, has offered OWTU special purpose company Patriotic Energies and Technologies an exclusivity period in the process.
Petrotrin's refinery assets were placed in Guaracara Refining, one of four TPH subsidiaries, which include Heritage Petroleum (upstream) and Paria Fuels (logistics and trading).
