Tullow outlines near term LAC work program
Tullow Oil, which recently expanded its footprint in Latin America and the Caribbean with winning bids in Argentina, has updated its planned work program for the region.
In Guyana, the junior operator plans to drill two wildcat wells on the Orinduik offshore license from June using the Stena Forth vessel (pictured).
The first well will target the Jethro prospect and the second the Joe prospect, in water depths of 1,350m and 650m, respectively. Both wells are targeting prospects of 100M-200Mb oil.
At the non-operated Kanuku offshore block, the company expects the Carapa-1 well to be spud in the third quarter. The Carapa prospect is a 200Mb target at a depth of 70m.
ARGENTINA
This month, Tullow picked up blocks MLO-122, MLO-114 and MLO-119 in Argentina’s offshore licensing round, the latter two areas in partnership with Pluspetrol and Wintershall.
Tullow plans to start initial geological studies, 2D reprocessing and 3D acquisition in 2020.
Across the rest of its regional holdings, the company continues to work up prospects to compete for capital for drilling in 2020 and beyond in Jamaica, Peru and Suriname.
