Two Mexico-focused miners off to strong start in 2021

Two Mexico-focused miners got off to a strong start in Q1, with gold and silver output up sharply from the same quarter last year.
TOREX GOLD
Toronto-based Torex Gold produced 129,500oz gold at its El Limón-Guajes mine in Guerrero state (in picture), a record first quarter performance.
Output was up from 108,530oz in 1Q20.
“The open pits and underground continued to deliver solid, reliable performance, with the underground achieving a new quarterly record of ore mined,” CEO Jody Kuzenko said.
The processing plant achieved a record monthly milling rate of 13,810t/d in March.
Torex is well placed to achieve full-year production guidance of 430,000-470,000oz gold in 2021.
ENDEAVOUR SILVER
Endeavour Silver produced 1.05Moz silver and 11,109oz gold in Q1, up 22% and 31% respectively from the same quarter last year.
Output at the Guanaceví mine was on plan, with higher grades partly offset by lower than forecast throughput, with production at the Bolañitos and El Compas assets higher than expected.
Vancouver-based Endeavour is advancing a planned sale of its El Cubo asset to VanGold Mining, and developing its Terronera project in Mexico.
