Caracas, January 18, 2020.- This Friday, within the XX Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Cuba - Venezuela Integral Agreement, the Oil and Finance sector meetings were held
The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Popular Power of Petroleum and President of Petróleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA), Manuel Quevedo, the Minister of the Popular Power for Economy and Finance, Simón Zerpa and the Deputy Minister of Economic Cooperation, Ramón Gordils, with the objective of assessing the challenges of cooperation for both countries in 2020.
The head of Petroleum informed that the financing scheme is already available to continue with the work plan and that the exchange of oil supply for services will be maintained. "We review the behavior of our system and the expectations for this year that begins," said Quevedo.
It should be noted that since 2000, Venezuela has provided the Republic of Cuba with goods and services that include assistance and technical advice from public and private entities, as well as petroleum products. All this as part of the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement signed between both nations.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Roberto López, reiterated that the economic blockade is not imposed on companies but on the people and thanked the achievements obtained in the framework of this cooperation.
During the development of the technical table they also evaluated the possible execution of a program of advice in statistical terms in the hospital centers.
