Vivo opens third solar plant in Bahia, reaches 70 DG units in the country

Vivo advances in the diversification of its energy matrix from renewable sources and inaugurates in Malhada, Bahia, its 3rd solar plant in the state, the 70th in the distributed generation model in operation in Brazil, reaching a total production of 626,000 MWh/year.

Built in partnership with the companies Gera and Energea, the plant is installed in an area of 14.2 hectares and should produce 12,348 MWh/year, which will be injected into the grid of the concessionaire Neoenergia Coelba, supplying 140 consumption points of the company in the region.

The new plant generated 33 jobs during the construction phase.

With 114 million accesses to fixed and mobile services, Vivo has 35 thousand energy consumption points in the country.

All energy used by the company comes from 100% renewable sources, from a combination of distributed generation production, solar (62%), hydroelectric (27%) and biogas (11%) sources, medium voltage solar self-production and energy acquisition on the free market, in addition to I-RECs (International Renewable Energy Certificates) certified energy, from wind power.
