Water cuts announced for Panama City
Water service in most of Panama City and surrounding areas will be entirely suspended on December 1 from 5am to 6pm due to preventive maintenance at Chilibre's Federico Guardia Conte potable water treatment plant – the largest in the country.
National water utility IDAAN announced that it will implement a contingency plan to supply local hospitals during the period.
It will take 24-48 hours for the service to be completely restored following the restart of operations at the plant, the company said in a statement.
