Wind roundup: Peru capacity increase, potential project bidders in Bolivia

Peru’s power grid coordinator COES approved commercial startup of the 177MW expansion of the Wayra wind farm in Ica region.

Orygen Perú, formerly Enel Generación Perú, provided the update in a filing to local securities regulator SMV.

The expansion connects to the grid at the Flamenco substation and increases the country’s wind capacity to 1,015MW or around 7% of total capacity.

Bolivia project

Four groups took part in an information meeting for Bolivian state power company Ende’s tender for the civil works of the 45MW Warnes II wind project in Santa Cruz department.

The potential bidders are ALCC, Emcar, Grev and Icontec, procurement information shows.

The 260-day contract covers the plant’s internal road, turbine foundations and water drainage, among other infrastructure.

The reference price is 118mn bolivianos (US$17mn) and offers are due by July 5.
