WOM press release

Santiago, April 21, 2023.- Continuing to provide the best service to its customers is the promise of WOM, who officially announced their alliance with Zapping, a startup that has been revolutionizing the pay television market in Chile for more than 5 years. The union of both companies, in addition to offering a renewed streaming service, will expand the catalog with triple signals such as Paramount, History, Discovery and all the exclusive content of original Zapping channels.
From May 1, 2023, customers will be able to enjoy content on up to 5 registered devices and from anywhere, along with key features such as replaying content for up to 7 days, restarting a program that has already started, viewing match statistics football directly on the television or even directly repeat the goals of a live match.
“Making a match with a partner that shares our promise to deliver the best service and experience to home and mobile fiber customers is a bet that we are sure will shake up the market. We want to further enhance our television proposal, and what better of the hand of Zapping, who were disruptive by delivering the best of cable without set-top boxes, cables or antennas”, said Rodrigo Baudrand, manager of WOM Home Market.
The alliance will further enhance the operator's market share in the home and mobile fiber segments, benefiting its more than 7.8 million customers throughout the country. WOM's bandwidth is key to receive high traffic simultaneously and browse at high speeds, allowing current and future subscribers to access the best experience.
For Gustavo Morandé, CEO of Zapping, the alliance is very significant: “For us, this confirms that the investment we have made in technology and branding constitutes an important differentiator in the industry. With WOM we share many brand values, we believe in the importance of providing a great service and we have the same desire to revolutionize the industry”.
The adaptive quality that reaches up to 1080p at 60fps and the much commented Zapping Turbo Mode, which decreases the delay and allows channels like TNT Sports to be seen before on any other platform, are other factors that will lead both companies to continue growing in the market. The platform will be available throughout the national territory and is compatible with 95% of the devices on the market (Smart TV, TV box, Smartphone, tablet and PC), requiring only an internet connection to use the service.
How to contract Zapping?
The service will be available from May 1 on WOM's digital channels, for all clients, who will have the possibility to choose between three plans: Lite Plan for S5,900, Lite+ Plan for $7,900 and Full Plan for $16,900, each one with different proposals for registered devices, channel grid, functionalities, among others. In addition, they will have 1 month free to enjoy the service.
