The head of the MEM asserted that this interesting meeting with World Bank officials will accelerate the steps for the Dominican Republic to continue diversifying its energy matrix with a significant participation of renewable energies, thus joining the objectives of achieving carbon neutrality in 2050, under of the Paris climate agreement.
The WB delegation was led by Gabriela Elizondo, practice manager of the Energy sector for Latin America and the Caribbean of the World Bank, and David Villar Ferrenbach, Energy specialist; while, in addition to Minister Almonte, the Dominican delegation was made up of Miguel Díaz, Vice Minister of Mines, and Chadia Abreu, advisor on Energy Regulation and Clean Technologies of the MEM.
