WSP Perú appoints Virgilio Gonzales as new general manager

Lima Peru - WSP, the world's leading professional services firm in engineering, mining and the environment, is pleased to announce the promotion of Virgilio Gonzales to general manager of Peru, effective August 1, 2024.

Virgilio Gonzales succeeds Gonzalo Covarrubias, who has decided to seek new opportunities after five years as general manager. During his management, he has been a key contributor to the success and growth of WSP in Peru.

About Virgilio Gonzales

Virgilio is a civil engineer from the National University of San Agustín de Arequipa, he has a diploma in Project Management and Quality (PMI) from the Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) and a master's degree in Project Management and Administration from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC).

With more than 30 years of professional experience and 25 in consulting, construction, mining, geotechnics and operations, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision that has driven growth and innovation in his roles as manager of Construction Services (2017) and Transportation and Infrastructure (2023). Prior to joining WSP, he served as general manager at Amec Foster Wheeler (now Wood Group) for five years.
