YPFB analyzes reactivation opportunities in Ibibobo, Huayco and Algarrobilla fields

Santa Cruz, April 21, 2024 (AN-YPFB).- Yacimientos Petrolófilos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) analyzes reactivation opportunities in four wells located in the Ibibobo, Huayco and Algarrobilla fields, located in the department of Tarija.

The well reached a final depth of 2,278 meters, with positive results at the San Telmo and Chorro levels. In the current management, production tests were carried out that confirmed the productive potential in the Chorro reservoir.

HUAYCO. The HYC-X1 well was drilled in 1982 and was completed with a selective single arrangement in the Huamampampa and Icla reservoirs. The HYC-X1001 well was drilled in 1998 and was completed with a simple setup in the Icla reservoir. Maintenance activities are currently being carried out to carry out production tests in the HYC-X1 and HYC-X1001 wells in the Huamampampa and Icla reservoirs. Both wells are located in the Huayco field in the O'Connor province.

ALGARROBILLA. The Algarrobilla-X1 (AGR-X1) well, drilled in 1961, reached a final depth of 3,953 meters, with the presence of hydrocarbons at the Tarija and Tupambi levels. It is located in the Gran Chaco province and belongs geomorphologically to the Chaco Plain and Pie de Monte. In the following months, equipment will be mobilized to carry out operations in this well.

The state oil company carries out data acquisition in wells that are part of its portfolio of mature or closed fields, with the purpose of carrying out a technical reassessment and planning projects for their reactivation.

The activities are part of the strategic objectives of YPFB and the Upstream Reactivation Plan (PRU) that the state oil company faces, to increase hydrocarbon volumes.
