UCOM MHE 07-26-2024.- The YPFB Board of Directors, in a historic session, unanimously approved projects that ensure the investment of $us 250 million in three new exploratory wells with programmed depths greater than 6,000 meters in Mayaya Centro and the Northern Subandino area, a new basin in the department of La Paz.

Two of these wells are associated with the Mayaya Centro Project, while the third will be located in a parallel structure, further increasing the recently confirmed potential of this region.

On July 16, President Luis Arce announced the discovery of a mega gas field in the Mayaya Centro-X1 well, located in the Non-Traditional Lliquimuni area, in the Northern Subandino area, with a potential of 1.7 TCF ( trillions of cubic feet). After a technical visit, the Head of State instructed YPFB to drill three additional wells and urged the Board of Directors to approve them.

The projected investment for these wells covers all activities, from civil works to their completion. This investment amount not only reflects the magnitude of the project, but also the confidence in the energy potential of the area.

This approval is a clear example of the commitment of the YPFB Board of Directors to the development and progress of Bolivia since, in record time, in line with the management of the national government, it approved these projects. Likewise, this instance highlighted the crucial role of YPFB in strengthening the economy and taking advantage of our country's natural resources.
