The President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Alberto Arce Catacora, delivered this Tuesday domestic gas connections in the city of Cobija. Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos expanded its natural gas distribution system and benefits approximately 10,000 users with internal installations enabled in the domestic category.
“Today we are delivering an important phase in the construction of residential gas networks. We are proud to present and deliver this natural gas distribution system in the municipality of Cobija with an investment of more than Bs 8 million that will benefit nearly 10,000 citizens,” said Arce Catacora.
Within the framework of the Natural Gas Distribution System, the state oil company invested more than Bs 8.2 million in the construction of 25,384 linear meters of secondary network, 1,743 connections and the construction of 1,918 internal installations, reported Alejandra Pérez Cabrera, manager of Gas Networks and Pipelines at YPFB.
“We encourage the growth of natural gas consumption. In this regard, we have expanded the coverage of the supply of this energy source to new domestic users in Cobija, since this basic service helps improve the quality of life of its inhabitants,” Pérez Cabrera said.
The activities carried out allowed for the creation of direct and indirect jobs in the capital of Pandinas, located in the province of Nicolás Suárez. “I am very happy and grateful to President Lucho and Yacimientos for the great benefit of home gas. As a housewife, I recommend that neighbors have this service installed,” said Silvia Suárez, a resident of Perla del Acre.
The installation of gas networks in the homes of Bolivian families is the most important social project of the National Government and its strategic company YPFB. The use of this energy allows economic savings in the homes of the beneficiaries.
REGASIFICATION STATION
The Satellite Regasification Station (ESR) built in the city of Cobija is part of the Virtual Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) System project that promotes the use of natural gas in this border city where the conventional gas pipeline does not reach.
The LNG Plant, located in the department of Santa Cruz, processes natural gas and produces LNG that is transported through cryogenic tankers to the ESR. At the regasification station, the liquefied natural gas returns to its gaseous state and is delivered to the population for consumption through the gas network system.
The construction of internal facilities enabled in the domestic category is part of a package of works that were delivered by the national government related to housing and road improvements.
