La Paz, Sep 2, 2024 (AN-YPFB).- Between January and July 2024, Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos executed approximately 70% of the internal installations nationwide, enabled in the domestic category, reported the president of YPFB, Armin Dorgathen Tapia.

“We are encouraging the growth of domestic gas consumption. By July, we have executed nearly 70% of the connections scheduled for this year, that is, 41,925 internal installations were built and commissioned, improving the quality of life of 209,625 inhabitants of the country,” said Dorgathen Tapia.

For this management, the YPFB Gas Networks and Pipelines Management planned the construction of 60,000 installations in the domestic category with the perspective of increasing the use and consumption of natural gas, to meet the demand of users of this basic service.

The department with the highest execution is Oruro with 102.16%; followed by Beni with 93.73%; Santa Cruz with 78.64%; Cochabamba with 76.89%; Tarija with 75.30%; Chuquisaca with 75%; Pando with 69.20%; Potosí with 62.05%; and La Paz with 54.24% of facilities executed by July 2024. At this rate of execution, the state oil company expects to exceed the scheduled amount.

“Of the total number of home gas connections, around 39,747 correspond to the conventional system and 2,178 have the benefit through the Virtual Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Transportation System,” said Alejandra Pérez Cabrera, manager of Gas Networks and Pipelines at YPFB.

Within the framework of the Natural Gas Distribution System, the state-owned oil company is investing more than Bs. 446.7 million in this management in the installation and start-up of District Regulation Stations (EDR), primary and secondary networks, internal installations and connections. The activities carried out allowed the creation of direct and indirect jobs.

The installation of gas networks in the homes of Bolivian families is the most important social project of the National Government and its strategic company YPFB. The use of this energy allows savings in the homes of the beneficiaries, who consume on average two cylinders of Liquefied Petroleum Gas per month.
