YPFB's Scada system transmits information through the Túpac Katari satellite

Villa Montes, Jul 26 (AN/YPFB).- The National Center for Measurement and Control of Production and Transportation of Hydrocarbons (CNMCPTH) implements a technological satellite communication infrastructure that uses the Túpac-Katari satellite (TKSAT-1) to transmit information to the SCADA System in real time, reported Manuel Francisco Lara Coronado, director of the YPFB Property Center.
"The use of the Tupac Katari Satellite allows the development of reliable and transparent data communication operations for the benefit of the country," said the executive of the state oil company.
The Center is responsible for real-time monitoring of the operating parameters of all hydrocarbon production and transportation plants, becoming the only YPFB operating unit at the national level to have its own supervision, control and data acquisition technology.
RELIABLE INFORMATION
In this way, it is through the CNMCPTH that YPFB obtains all the information on the Hydrocarbon production and transportation plants, and in turn provides the SCADA service to the Gas Networks and Pipelines Management (GRGD), for the control of volumes of consumption by users such as service stations, industries and city gates.
Additionally, it provides the satellite communication service through a private network to LNG-ESR (VPNO) that is used in the transmission of data for the supervision and control of regasification stations distributed in intermediate populations far from conventional gas pipelines. Nacional level.
The communication platform and SCADA carry out the data acquisition of more than 700 hydrocarbon measurement systems, which involve around 9000 signals from instruments distributed in production plants, export stations, gas transportation, liquid transportation, internal consumers and gas networks.
