Description: Adaptation of the existing macro-drainage channel on Dilson de Oliveira and Carmelita Drummond Diniz avenues and implementation of flood containment basins, in order to eliminate flooding in the sections where it occurs during heavy rains. Micro-drainage will also be adapted along the roads included in the proposal, increasing the number of manholes and their respective connection networks to the channel. The entire population around Dilson de Oliveira and Carmelita Drummond Diniz avenues, who live in the flood risk region, totaling 4,800 inhabitants, as well as the indirect population that travels along the avenues. The existing channel on Dilson de Oliveira and Carmelita Drummond Diniz avenues, through which the Matadouro stream passes, is insufficient to drain extreme floods for recurrences greater than 25 years, which is why the roads present recurring flooding problems. The solution is to adapt the existing macro-drainage channel on the avenues and to install flood detention basins, eliminating flooding and risks to families living along the river and in transit. By installing flood detention basins and remodeling the Matadouro stream channel, it will be possible to eliminate flooded stretches of the avenues, which will contribute to improving the quality of life of the population directly affected and reduce the risk of exposure and direct contact of the population with contaminated waters flowing into the macro-drainage system; with the surface drainage system, the flow of rainwater drainage will be improved, which will continue its course to Maracanã Avenue.
