Alternative Project Tailings Deposition in Pit

Description: The project consists of equipping the infrastructure and carrying out the activities necessary to transport and convey conventional tailings from the Esperanza concentrator plant to the Tesoro Central, Tesoro Noreste and Esperanza pits, once the economically feasible mineral to be extracted in each of them, which will be used sequentially as a tailings disposal site, as an alternative and complementary modality to the disposal of thickened tailings in the Esperanza deposit, without modifying the mine movement or the mining plan of the pits operated by the company Minera Centinela, nor the beneficiation capacity of the Esperanza plant. At the same time, and parallel to the tailings transportation system, a system is considered to transport recovered water from the pits destined to the storage of tailings to its discharge into the existing recovered water pool, at the Esperanza concentrator plant. The project is located in the Sierra Gorda commune, Antofagasta province and region.
