In the El Salto-Puente Centenario section, a three-lane tunnel under San Cristóbal hill and the Mapocho river is planned, as well as improvement works to existing roads in the La Pirámide area. The project had initially envisioned an underground route that would extend from El Salto avenue with the Grecia roundabout. However, the project was redesigned due to opposition stemming from expropriation concerns of residents. The project will link El Salto avenue with Príncipe de Gales avenue, in the municipalities of La Reina, Las Condes, Ñuñoa and Vitacura, in the Metropolitana region.
