Description: The bioceanic, or transcontinental rail is envisioned to be a largely cargo-dedicated transport mode that would link Brazil's Atlantic coast with Peru's Pacific coast, with considerations to intersect Bolivia in an east-west trajectory. The construction of the rail corridor will link the Chancay mega-port in Peru with Brazil, connecting the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. This corridor will link Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil, facilitating international cargo transportation, optimizing export logistics, and fostering regional integration. The new rail line requires the construction of additional sections, especially in Peru, to ensure full connectivity of the project. The project seeks to reduce both costs and time in international cargo transportation. The route will not only boost agricultural exports, but will also facilitate the transport of minerals, soybeans and other products from Brazil and Bolivia to Asian markets through the port of Chancay. The construction of the bioceanic train will also benefit Bolivia, which will gain key access to the Pacific Ocean, improving its export possibilities and economic development. The project will start at the Port of Santos (Brazil), on the Atlantic; it enters Bolivia through Puerto Suarez, continues through the municipalities of Montero and Bulo Bulo, and exits to Peru through milestone 4 and concludes at the port of Ilo, on the Pacific.
