Cajamarca city treats 30l/s of the 250l/s of wastewater it produces, leading to heavy contamination of rivers. The objective of the project is to adequately treat the wastewater of the city of Cajamarca through the expansion and improvement of the main collectors and the construction, operation and maintenance of a WWTP, benefiting some 365,000 inhabitants. This sanitation project will have a direct impact on the health and quality of life of the population, with a positive effect on education, the economy, and the environment, among other aspects related to the well-being of families, their activities, and the environment. The project will be developed through the co-financed private initiative (CPI) modality. The Cajamarca wastewater treatment plant will be located in Cajamarca region in eastern Peru.
