Description: The initiative calls for upgrading the Providencia river port to encourage trade between Ecuador, and Brazil. It will be a transfer port where goods arriving by road from the Manta port can be transferred to boats to be shipped to Manaos and beyond and where boat cargo from Manaus can be transferred by road to the port of Manta and other pacific ports for export to destinations in the Pacific. It is part of a wider plan to improve connectivity between the Brazilian Amazon and Ecuador.
