Description: The project consists of the construction of an underwater cable that will connect Ecuador, Panama, Colombia and the west coast of Florida in the US, as well as other countries within Central and South America. The cable will adhere to the industry's Open Cable architecture, further supporting its goal of being carrier-neutral and providing open access at each of the CSN-1 landing stations. The CSN-1 system will consist of two segments: the 4,500 km main trunk will connect Bonita Beach (Florida, United States), Playa Diablillo (Panama), Costa del Este (Panama) and Anconcito (Ecuador). It will have between twelve and 17 fiber pairs from Bonita Beach to Costa del Este, and eight fiber pairs from Costa del Este to Anconcito, each with a design capacity of approximately 20Tbps using current technology. The 525-kilometer Colombia Branch will connect Salgar/Barranquilla (Colombia) with a branch on the main trunk. It will feature four fiber pairs, each with a design capacity of approximately 20 Tbps using current technology. CSN-1 will be built with unused branch units on the segment between Florida and Panama for possible future landings in the Caribbean or Central America and an unused branch unit on the segment between Panama and Ecuador for a possible branch to another landing in South America.
