Construction works will be carried out on the Circunvalación Norte highway, on the northern section of the highway. Once this section is completed, it will connect the country's three main road arteries. Around 90,000 vehicles per day use this road. The highway will be developed in the northern part of the city of San José, from route 109 on Calle Blancos to the General Cañas highway in the Uruca neighborhood. The project is divided into 5 functional units (UF): UF I: It goes from La Uruca to Quebrada Rivera. UF II: Located between León XIII and Colima de Tibás. This section of the new highway is divided into two sections IIA (Quebrada Rivera-Colima) and IIB (Colima-Triángulo de la Solidaridad). UF III. Located between Colima and National Route 32. UF IV: It covers from the old Triangle of Solidarity to Calle Blancos. UF V. Joins the new three-level intersection on RN 32 (UF IV) with the intersection on Calle Blancos (RN No. 109).
