The project also involves more than 360km of additional distribution canals, increasing the capacity of irrigation by between 43,000-50,000ha. In addition, 540 control structures (siphons and outlets) will be implemented, as well as a drainage system and 430km of access roads. The new project would double the agricultural output capacity in Nayarit. Specifically, it would multiply corn production by five and rice production by three and more than double bean production.
