Cerros de Valparaíso container terminal (TCVAL, Terminal 2)

Description: The project consists of the construction and operation of a new seaport to increase the number of berths in the port and with this, increase the cargo transfer capacity of the Port of Valparaíso. To do this, a dock will be built with new back-up esplanades, gaining land through fillings, advancing the current coastline by approximately 185 meters towards the sea to generate a new berth edge parallel to the coast, capable of simultaneously serving two Post Panamax type ships. During the construction phase, the project will be divided into three sectors: TCVAL Sector: Location of the Project, corresponds to the sector where the works for the construction of the esplanade and dock of the new port terminal will be carried out. In addition, a series of necessary works will be carried out for the subsequent operation of the Project. Laguna Verde Quarry Sector: Corresponds to the sector from which stone material will be extracted, an input required for the materialization of the construction works projected in the TCVAL Sector. AES Gener Sector: This sector will be used during the construction stage mainly for the collection and subsequent transport of the stone material extracted from the Laguna Verde Quarry. The stacked stone material will be transferred by sea to the project construction area (TCVAL Sector). The project is located in the city of Valparaíso, within the current Port area in the V Region of Valparaíso, province and commune of the same name
