The Carajás Railway is a high-capacity railway, with iron ore being the main product transported. It also carries out regular passenger transportation between São Luiz/MA and Parauapebas/PA, with three trains per week in each direction. The project was born from the extension for 30 years of the current concession of the railway line. It is expected that 8.22bn reais will be invested in the concession, with an operational expense of 20.69bn reais.
