Irrigation system Concessions

Description: Located in the municipalities of Malhada and Iuiú, in the state of Bahia, the Vale do Iuiú Irrigation Project has land access through the BR-030 highway, which connects the region with Vitória da Conquista/BA and Salvador/BA, and the BR-122, connecting with Montes Claros/MG, in addition to the West-East Integration Railway , which borders the area. With around 250,000 hectares of irrigable land, representing 63% of the total area, and excellent topographic conditions, the project includes two large blocks: Iuiú Norte and Iuiú Sul. Preliminary studies indicate the viability of irrigating an area of 51,700 hectares with an investment of close to 1.8bn reais. With the implementation of the project, which covers areas of the municipalities of Iuiú, Malhada and Sebastião Laranjeiras, it is estimated that 160,000 new direct and indirect jobs will be created.
