The project is one of the components of the "Healthy Water for La Laguna" program, which seeks to protect the health of the inhabitants of the municipalities of Francisco I. Madero, Matamoros, San Pedro, Torreón and Viesca in the state of Coahuila, and Gómez Palacio, Lerdo Mapimí and Tlahualilo in the state of Durango, by incorporating water suitable for human use and consumption from a good quality supply source.
