East Dock Project (Moegão, Cais Leste)

Description: The project consists of the construction of a rail unloading terminal for grains and bran in the Porto de Paranaguá terminal complex, in the Leste de Exportação Corridor, as well as a rail/road restructuring of the accesses to the Terminals da Região Leste do Porto from Paranagua. In addition, it will seek to distribute the grains through new conveyor belts, create three independent unloading lines and restructure the accesses of the 11 Termiais da Região Leste of the port, among others. The works are intended to optimize the reception and loading capacity in the railway (train) and road (truck) modalities and, once completed, daily wagon traffic will increase, since the station will have the capacity to receive 900 wagons per day. 60 wagons per batch and, additionally, the new infrastructure will allow the management of 80-ton wagons, instead of 65 tons. The works will reduce CO2 emissions by 73%, in addition, the cost of operations will be 30% cheaper and, finally, there will be more organization in traffic and flow of modals in the terminal. The project seeks to have the necessary infrastructure to integrate with other projects that are being developed in the state, such as Nova Ferroeste. From the state company they assure that with the new infrastructure the loading and unloading needs will be met for the next 20 or 30 years.
