Description: The project involves the construction and operation of the 800kV Estreito substation, which will help strengthen the existing interconnection between the north and southeast/midwest regions of Brazil. A transmission line will connect to the substation to help dispatch power from the 11GW Belo Monte hydroelectric dam. Belo Monte Transmissora de Energia SPE S.A. was awarded a 20-year concession to develop the project.
