The project, which involves the concession of 6,981ha Bayóvar 9, is located in the Sechura district, in the Piura region, Peru. The project contemplates the mining exploitation under the open pit method of the existing non-metallic mining resources in the Bayóvar N ° 9 mining concession, as well as an industrial plant that will treat a nominal of 18,740 metric tons per day of mineral to produce 2.5 million tons of phosphate rock concentrate grading 29% P2O5 over an approximate period of 20 years. Considering that the area does not have sufficient road infrastructure facilities, electricity or water availability, the project includes the construction of a highway to transport the phosphate rock concentrate, from the beneficiation plant to the port of shipment, the laying of an electric transmission line and, due to the scarcity of water in the area, the implementation of a system for collecting and pumping seawater through an aqueduct from the coast to the plant and mine area, where part of the water will be made drinkable by desalination. The projected workforce for the operation stage is estimated at 154 people, of which approximately 80% will be qualified.
